STEMedia has participated in and led out in several unique and creative STEM outreach projects with a number of schools, businesses and organizations. Below is a list of some of those projects for you to read a little more about:
Social media campaign conducted in partnership with clothing brand, STEM University to encourage college students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math majors to finish the semester strong. Students were asked to use t he hashtag with their best study photos on Instagram or Twitter, can enter to win a gift pack filled to the brim with gift cards from Starbucks, iTunes, GameStop and American Express, as well as magazine subscriptions and more, valued at $500
Highlights: – 20+ photo submissions – Winner was NCSU Chemistry sophomore – Participation from 10 other universities
A poetry event was organized where students from several STEM disciplines wrote and performed pieces in front of a packed house; and boy, was it an amazing night! Great poets, awesome atmosphere and tremendous collaboration with STEMedia, NC State Chapter of NSBE, Sacrificial Poets, NCSU MEP and My Health Impact. (Photos)
Highlights: 80+ students attended – Winner receiver a Sponsored Ipad Mini – 60+ individuals signed up for mailing list
A Pre-College Initiative workshop at the National Society for Black Engineers Convention held in Nashville, TN. The topic was combining Creativity + STEM and the high school and middle school students were very engaged as they got the opportunity to showcase their artistic and technical genius. Many left inspired and excited about pursuing a career of holistic innovation. (Photos)
